Poczta Polska had to face the market's growing demands, including the need for fast and reliable delivery of court mail that requires confirmation of receipt. The traditional delivery model for these shipments, based on paper receipts, was becoming too time-consuming and error-prone. The company had to find a way to simplify this process and, at the same time, increase the efficiency and security of data, especially personal information.
Poczta Polska needed a modern solution that would enable the fast delivery of parcels and provide full control over the mobile devices used in this process. The project required a large scale and an advanced device management system.
To meet these challenges, Poczta Polska decided to use the Essentials MDM solution provided by Techstep. The project was called "Mobilny Listonosz" (Mobile Postman), and it aimed to equip 24,000 postmen with modern tablets, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, which would enable safe and efficient delivery of parcels and the collection of electronic proof of receipt (EPO).
"The implementation of the project was a key step for us in the modernisation of services. Thanks to Techstep's support, we have gained not only an advanced tool for managing devices but also proven expertise and flexible cooperation, in which our expectations are a priority. The new functionalities, tailored to our needs, have streamlined processes and increased efficiency. We are now faster, more accurate and reliable – which our customers appreciate."
Techstep's Essentials MDM provided full control over the tablets, which operate in Kiosk mode. In this setup, devices can only run approved applications, which allows you to maintain a high level of security and prevents unauthorized programs from being installed. The system supports devices running on Android, which provides wide compatibility with applications and flexibility in device management. Additionally, devices can be remotely locked or located if lost or stolen.
The first phase of the implementation covered 5,500 postmen and 76% of postal codes in Poland. By the end of 2016, the project had reached full scale, covering 24,000 postmen and the whole of Poland. The introduction of the EPO system has significantly improved the transparency and efficiency of the delivery process, eliminating the need for a paper proof of receipt.
The Mobile Postman project brought a number of benefits to the Polish Post, which had a positive impact on the quality of services provided:
Thanks to the EPO system, the delivery process has become faster and more transparent, enabling postmen to deliver parcels more efficiently. Additionally, central management of mobile devices allows for quick responses to potential issues, resulting in even better work organization.
Poczta Polska has gained full control over mobile devices by using features such as remote locking and locating. This makes it possible to secure data, especially sensitive personal information.
Essentials MDM solution enabled more precise delivery of parcels and provided immediate confirmation of receipt. As a result, customers received higher quality services, leading to greater satisfaction.
With the help of mobile tablets, postal workers can now provide extra services like handling payments and money transfers and offering insurance. These advancements have enabled Poczta Polska to broaden its range of services to better align with market demands.
Techstep engineering team provides ongoing technical support to Poczta Polska, improving MDM system management and increasing operational efficiency.
The mobile system has significantly reduced paper documentation, which not only lowers operational costs but also aligns with sustainable development efforts.
The mobile system allows postmen to work more effectively and with greater ease, enhancing their engagement and satisfaction. Rather than lugging around piles of paper delivery confirmations, registers, or forms, they utilise mobile devices, which simplify their daily tasks, boost comfort, and enhance efficiency.
Using reports generated by the MDM system allows Poczta Polska to continuously analyse operational results, device performance, and employee efficiency. With this data, the company can optimise processes, monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions, and make better operational decisions.
The implementation of the MDM system has created a solid foundation that enables Poczta Polska to easily adapt the system to growing needs and implement new technologies, fostering further development and innovation within the company.
