Techstep's dedication to lifecycle management and circular economy influenced the selection process, underscoring the company’s commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices. This is a direct result of a new legislation introduced in Norway on 1 January 2024, requiring climate and environmental considerations to be weighted at least 30% in public tenders.

By leveraging its expertise in mobile technology solutions, Techstep will be responsible for delivering, repairing and recycling mobile devices, as well as giving the municipalities’ employees the tools for self-service through a modern webshop to order and repair the devices and replace or buy them out in compliance with Norwegian tax requirements.

The two agreements have an estimated total value of NOK 55 million over four years. The initial contract period for the Nordre Follo agreement is two years, with options for an additional two-year extension with annual renewal.
